El Cajon should host the new Chargers stadium

It's time for El Cajon to take the step towards economic prosperity and shuck the too-many-apartments, down trodden image that has burdened it for years. An opportunity exists that will boost El Cajon into the limelight, generate a great deal of tax income and put El Cajon in it's place as the second greatest city in San Diego County: Host the new Chargers stadium.

The infrastructure (freeway access, rail access, airport, etc.) are already in place waiting to be used to their full potential. By hosting a new stadium, El Cajon will put the keystone in place for a vibrant economic makeover that will drive new businesses and residents to the city. A stadium surrounded by hotels, condos and restaurants, instead of a glass-half-empty area, whose only welcome are the wind tattered “Buy it in El Cajon” flags.

Yes there will be resistance, but strong leadership and vision will overcome these obstacles. Can you just imagine seeing Superbowl LIV live from El Cajon with the snow capped mountians off in the distance and the millions of dollars that this will inject into our economy? That's a vision I would love to embrace.

Customer Service - the Good.

I had purchase a bulk package of chicken thighs the other day from the Vons store on the corner of Chase and Avocado in El Cajon. When I opened them, they had the smell of bad. I returned to the store and went right to the customer service desk and explained the situation. I was offered an exchange but finding another package of equal price would be very difficult. So I asked for a refund. "Go to register six." When I looked at register six, the line was five people deep. I walked around to get in line but stopped because I noticed the store manager working a register with noone in line. "Do I have to go to line six to get a refund?" "Yes, all refunds must go thru line six." Great, here's the manager standing at a register, not waiting on anyone and he won't handle my refund. Needless to say, I was not happy. I followed their directions and eventually got my refund. I than went back and found another package of chicken thighs and made sure the "use by" date was the furtherest out in the future. As I stood back in line to pay for my items, the manager opened the adjoining register and I scooted into it. He was codial, asked if I had found everything I wanted and as I paid, he told me that he'd comp'ed the chicken. Surprise!

Doing the right thing can turn around a bad experience and I glad to see this manager though of and did the right thing.

Should we stay or should we go now?

I'm a firm believer that we must defeat the terrorists, but I also believe doing so in Afghanistan is going to be extremely costly in American lives and tax payer dollars. A cost I'm not willing to agree to. We must learn from Russia's mistake. This is a country where tribes and tribal loyalty are “the government” and decisions are made in the best interest of each tribe by each tribal leader. Winning them over is akin to taking water out of one end of the pool and pouring it back into the other end. McChrystal's strategy, as he expressed on 60 Minutes, is viable and might work, but Chris Mathews also had a good idea: Leave Afghanistan, allow Al-Queda and the Taliban to reestablish and then going back in and wipe them out.

May you live in interesting times

"May you live in interesting times" a Chinese curse that we are experiencing. Can you believe these dumb Equus asinus's gave this bozo the Nobel Peace prize? I just love it. Even the liberal media, both fringe and MSM can't believe this. I was watching Special Report and they displayed numerous Tweets (from all those twits) that showed they can't believe it. A few weeks ago, during the panel portion of Special Report, the panelists were asked what good things did they believe BHO had done. Even Charles Krauthammer, after hemming and hawing voiced a few, but they should have said "everything he's done." Because everything he's done and is doing is giving strength to the conservatives and their agenda. I only wish the Republican party was smart enough to take advantage of this opportunity. And can you believe that he accepted it? His hubris is beyond belief. He didn't even realize the benefit he could have gotten by tactfully turning it down.

He's so inept that he's gotten himself into "no win" positions within his own caste (another benefit for the conservatives). To Stay or not to stay that is the question. But it's not just his holiness but his minions that continue to make wonderful decisions (i.e. Charlie Rangle, etc.).

We are living in interesting times.
